Creating the leaders in the digital economy
Lars Hilsie being interviewed for meettheboss.tv really undertands social networking for both consumer marketing but more importantly how this can help "crowd source employee brains" and tap into enterprise knowledge. Lars clearly explained on how one of the most powerful ways to leverage social media is around customer services where creating social platforms for customers and employees can create business efficiencies and build better relationship with customers. He clearly believes one of the key values of social media is around the dissemination of knowledge within a corporation where "the janitor locked in a room" could be an expert in a key subject where the business are outsourcing this task for example. Lars also passionately believes that online reputation management is an area that all companies need to address which I also believe with the impact of social media and connected networks. It's so important that you realise the amplification of content through social networks can have both a positive and negative impact on your brand or business. Lars believes that we are advanced age after 35 (audience laughs and feel very old;-) in regards to social media we established that is B2D = business 2 death. Lars believes that engaging with various groups such as linkedin and other networks are important for building your online kudos and reputation but interesting linkedin have banned people joining more than 50 groups. He believes that companies should be looking at how companies can engage in social media through using the right solutions and seeking out some experts who can advise on best practice which is a must in my view for any company moving to a social media strategy. We finished the session with a great interactive session where people could really like or dislike questions crowdsourced in the audience! Brilliant great work by the meettheboss team pulled off. ....end
